My Declaration of Independence It's time. Time to strike out on my own and declare a new Party: The Cincinnatus Party. 1 ~ Republican Voters are generally intelligent, but the Republican Party is clearly corrupt. 2 ~ Democratic Voters are generally compassionate, but the Democratic Party is evil. 3 ~ Libertarian Voters are really good-looking...but the Libertarian Party is weak. 1 ~ For the record: I do not seek dictatorial powers...though I wouldn't turn'm down! 2 ~ Nor, alas, do I have time, currently, to give speeches to drum up support. 3 ~ I'm just a worker bee, declaring political Independence! The American Cincinnatus Party Principles Our Principles ~ "our" in the Elizabethan sense, if you will ;) ~ are as follows: 1 ~ A Society of Selfless Servants. Politicians need not apply. Let there be Term Limits! 2 ~ 100% RealTime Transparency on every vote. Let Pork be purged. 3 ~ Eliminate Lobbyists entirely. Let them all eat cake. 4 ~ Free Markets. Minimal Governmental interference. Section 230 is not the problem. 5 ~ Free Markets. Break up the Tech Monopolies. That...is the problem. 6 ~ Strong Defense. History makes it crystal clear that Evil cannot be reasoned with. 7 ~ Honor Our Soldiers' Lives: Only during War should American Troops ever risk their lives. 8 ~ Respectful Foreign Policy. Only during War should American Troops ever leave our shores. 9 ~ Respectful Foreign Policy. Leadership By Example is the best way to spread Democracy. 10 ~ Strong Borders. Only those who respect our Laws should ever be welcomed in. 11 ~ Abolish the Federal Income Tax. We did fine without it, before 1913. Yes. 1913. 12 ~ Install a Sales Tax. By taxing spending, voila! The Rich pay a far larger share. 13 ~ Love. Lust. None of The State's Business. Let each American wed as they see fit. 14 ~ Gender Identity. Identify however you like, but anatomical Ladies get their own bathrooms. 15 ~ Abortion. None of The State's Business. Late Term? That's not Abortion, that's Murder. 16 ~ Capital Punishment. It's justifiable, but I'm against it. I believe in Redemption. 17 ~ Religion. None of The State's Business. But no Religion should get a Tax Break. 18 ~ The Right to Bear Arms. We find this Truth to be self-evident. Let The State beware. 19 ~ Racism. Evil was institutional for about 180 years. We killed it. Let us not now practice it. 20 ~ Freedom of Speech. Whatever measures need to be taken, be they ever so monumental, let there always be Freedom of Speech. Google, Apple, Twitter, FaceBook, et cetera have blatantly empowered murderous regimes in China and Persia, while censoring millions of perfectly rational Americans. But 230 is not the problem. These companies all have an inalienable right to monitor their Sites as they see fit. But as they have proven to be demonstrably corrupt in their censorship, the only solution is to break them up. Teddy Roosevelt and others courageously did so, 100 years or so ago, when other companies became too powerful. The time has come, again. And for that, I shall fight, evermore.
