American Greatness ~ an extraordinary Site ~ argues that the cabal that runs the Democratic Party is following the playbook of the insidious Emperor Palpatine, of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Palpatine rose to power by cleverly manipulating the dupes in the Trade Federation to start a conflict with The Galactic Republic, and then exploited the conflict to manipulate the government into granting him extraordinary powers. He then further exploited the situation, easier to do, now that he was behind the wheel, to transform those into a Dictatorship.

I was bemused to find this article, as Sheev Palpatine's diabolically effective tactics have always seemed, to me, to echo those of a fusion of Dictators, but especially Adolf Hitler.

Hitler, shortly after getting his foot in the door, as it were, in 1933, as Chancellor ~ nominally as 2nd in command to President Paul von Hindenburg ~ exploited the Reichstag Fire to persuade von Hindenburg to clamp down dramatically on Germany's civil liberties.

I'm afraid that Winter at American Greatness has a point.
