A Woman Possessed
I'm just waiting for the punch line.
Can somebody help me understand why, in this modern day and age, in this Age of Enlightenment, in fact, where millions of men are terrified of offending the women in their lives, women still take on their spouse's last name on their Wedding day, thus branding themselves their possessions??
I've heard the excremental excuses about avoiding confusion with their children's last names.
And I've heard the excremental excuses about tradition.
Slavery is a tradition, I'll grant you...But I was under the impression that most folks find it sort'f...evil?
Anyway, just throwing that out there...But don't get me started on this whole business of men actually asking the Lady's Father for permission to marry her. We do all understand that that tradition ties directly back to the days when Mothers and Daughters were the possessions of Fathers, right?
It might be time for some folks to rethink their traditions, is what I mean to say.
