Good morning, Fellow Freedom Fighters! Over the next few days, I intend to share my Libertarian perspective on domestic and foreign policies! Abortions Let's jump right in, shall we? Probably the most emotionally contentious political subject of them all, over the years, is Abortion: Whether or not a Mother has the moral right to determine whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term, whether or not there is a point in the progression of pregnancies at which that answer changes, based on the development of the fetus, and whether or not a state or federal Government should have the legal right to make those determinations. 1 > Morally, it seems to me that, from the moment of inception, this is a human life we're talking about, and there's really no getting around that. The question of viability is a crucial one. And the fact that viability's threshold has changed, over the years, because of the evolution of science, strongly suggests, to me, that there will eventually come a day when one will be able to make a viable argument ~ see what I did, there? ~ that a fertilized egg, given a reasonable level of supporting apparatus, is viable from Day 1. That seems to me to be the trajectory of science's evolution. 2 > Morally, though, it seems to me that Mothers shoulder an extraordinary imperative...Yet, precisely because of that imperative, they wield a powerful imperative. In English? They bear the burden of being the GateKeepers of Life. That being the case, they bear an enormous responsibility. Yet, that being the case, they bear an enormous prerogative. They, they alone, have the right to choose. What's your take on this, Bobby? Hmm...I must say...He does make a good point. 3 > My bottom line? No way in Hell does the State have the right, morally, to interject itself in the way of what I consider to be a Mother's prerogative. And I believe all legal things to be derivative of morality: Law is, after all, our best effort to legislate morality, in itself a very worthy undertaking, indeed. Therefore, my position is that there ought be zero legislation, regarding Abortions. It's none of my business. Apologies for the "quality" of the video. Strange times that we live in.
